What is Alopecia Areata

Alopecia areata affects approximately 1.7 percent of the population overall and over 6 million people in the US alone.

Alopecia areata is characterized by the formation of well defined hairless round patches, which vary in size.  Some people may lose more or all their hair. The cause that provoke the condition are unknown.  Alopecia areata is considered an autoimmune disease, in which the immune system, which is designed to protect the body from foreign invader such as viruses and bacteria mistakenly attacks the hair follicles which is the structure from which hairs grow.

Anyone can have alopecia areata, it often begins in childhood and may happen more than once during your lifetime.  Living with hair loss can be hard, however this form of Alopecia is generally reversible even if you have lost all of your hair.

I thought I might start off with an introduction of myself my name is Kimra T Ali I am a Hair Loss Practitioner and Dermotrichologist.  You are probably asking yourself what the heck is that or if you know what it is then the question is does she really grow hair.  Well let me start off with the 1st question.  Hair Loss Practitioner is someone who is trained to look for and at hair loss problems (alopecia) in a holistic way by evaluating clients on the basis of personal history, lifestyle, genetic factors and environmental conditions.  Based on this consultation recommendations and a treatment plan is advised.  A Dermotrichologist does the same things and in addition to that we treat scalp disorders like Desquamation (dandruff), Seborrhea, Shaft abnormalities and Alopecia.  Now to answer  the 2nd question that’s running through your mind; Yes I really grow hair.  How? I teach you scalp hygiene and get you on a regime of using topicals and oral nutrients specifically for hair growth I combine this with laser hair therapy.  Together this is a proven system to regrow hair.  If you check out my website http://www.thehairboutique.info you will see pictures of people who have been treated and those that are still going through treatment.

I decided to start this practice because there was a need I see so many beautiful people suffering with this condition and not enough solutions.  I have been educated by The US Trichology Institute and certified by the American Medical Certification Association.  I am licensed by the state of North Carolina Cosmetics Arts as well.  This is my passion to help people grow there hair and give them back there confidence it is devastating to loose your hair for both men and women.

This blog will be used to educate and give hope to Men and Women that there is help, help without painful injections and surgeries.
